First and foremost, gardening is good for YOU. One of the major considerations as to why you should garden is your own wellbeing. It raises your self-esteem by allowing you to actually accomplish something. Planting your very own garden and watching it grow and thrive is something you can be proud of. You’re someone who can create life, someone who is in tune with nature, and someone who is good at it! Gardening can also help you reduce the stress in your life. When you take the time out of your day to focus on nothing but your garden, you’ll be filled with an overwhelming sense of peace. Forget your cell phone, forget your job, forget the drama for 30 minutes a day it’s just you and your garden. We all know stress can be the root of many other health issues, so why not take this opportunity to let go?
On top of your mental health, gardening is also good for your physical health. Planting your own fruits, vegetables, and herbs allows you to control the environment in which they grow. That means you can heavily reduce your risk of consuming GMOs and pesticides. Gardening can also bring you and your loved ones closer together by fostering a healthy bonding activity. If you and your significant other aren’t ready for kids or even pets yet, why not raise a garden together? It’s great to share all of the amazing benefits of gardening with someone you love!

Finally, gardening can help keep your finances in check. If you consume a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, you know how expensive trips to the grocery store can get. This is especially true if you prefer to eat organic. Obviously, it would take a lot of time and resources to cultivate a garden full of all your favorite veggies, but you can start off with the basics. If you’re smart, you’ll grow the most expensive vegetables at home and purchase others when necessary. Even just growing your own fresh herbs can cut help grocery costs. Once you get the hang of it, you can expand your garden as much as you’d like! Happy gardening!
